Post AGM walks – Saturday, 13th June 1.45pm

The AGM is to be held on Saturday, 13th June in the Parish Hall of St Aloysius RC church in Phoenix Street, Somers Town, London NW1 on Saturday, 13th June. It is close to Euston Station (closest Underground) and within walking distance of Kings Cross and St Pancras stations. Places are limited so please book early
Following this there will be a choice of three walks afterwards starting at 13.45pm at the AGM venue. The AGM is of course free to attend but there will be a charge for members of £12 for each of the walks. Please book the walks via the website (there is no need to book places for the AGM).

1. Fighting the slums: Housing Histories in St Pancras and Finsbury led by Alan Powers including work for St. Pancras Housing Association (architect Ian Hamilton), LCC (G. Topham Forrest’s masterpiece, Levita House), Hening & Chitty, and the most spectacular staircase in North London at Berthold Lubetkin’s Bevin Court, and his imposing Priory Gardens estate. 2. Squares, circles and triangles: a tour of academic Bloomsbury led by Suzanne Waters including Senate House (Charles Holden), Lasdun’s Institute of Education and School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine among many other buildings. LIMITED PLACES STILL AVAILABLE
3. Art deco in Marylebone led by Ian McInnes. London Art deco: Many interwar commercial buildings survive in and around Fitzrovia and Ian McInnes' walk will look at various extant examples by architects M E & H O Collins, Waite and Waite, Courtney Constantine and many others. Bring a travel card as we start at Mornington Crescent in Camden before walking circuitously to Southampton Row and Russell Square via Great Portland Street and New Oxford Street.LIMITED PLACES STILL AVAILABLE
All walks will end by about 4.30pm and then we re-convene at Brunswick Centre at 17.00 (close to Russell Square Underground Station) for view of interior followed by drinks courtesy of C20 Website editor Susannah Charlton and Stuart Tappin.
