Buildings on Paper: Sources from the RCAHMW Archives

Tuesday 18 June 2024

Start time: 6.30pm

Graham Brooks (1928–2020) was an important architect working in Wales in the 20th century. This talk is based around the fairly substantial archive of his work that was deposited with the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Wales (RCAHMW) at the National Monuments Record of Wales in February 2020. Our speaker Meg Ryder will discuss Brooks' work with forestry commission log cabins, the award-wining restoration of an old cottage, which became his home, and an example of his sympathetic designs for small, built-up spaces.

Meg Ryder has been an archivist at the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Wales since 2018. She has a Masters in Welsh History from Aberystwyth University and has recently completed a post graduate diploma in Archives Administration, also with Aberystwyth University.
