This event hosted by Carlos Finlay is a first for the Twentieth Century Society, spotlighting the latest research and activity of young and upcoming specialists in twentieth-century heritage.

Highlighting the breadth of the field, our five speakers will explore such themes as the architecture of destruction, church memorial gardens, heritage and new media, shopping centres, and Benidorm. Each talk will be ten minutes long and the full list of speakers and their subjects is:

Issy MacGregor - Greetings from Atom Town: exploring the 'fearful domestication' of nuclear power in Britain through the medium of photo-postcards.

Boryana Ivanova - Memory in Ruins: Remembering World War II through the Ecclesiastical Ruins in the City of London.

Matthew Lloyd Roberts - Architecture Online: Heritage and Digital Media

Ellie Brown - Shoppin' Around: Researching the C20 British Mall

Gus Wray - Benidorm: Semiotics and Tat

This evening event is a social occasion and an opportunity for attendees and speakers to get to know each other over a glass of wine. In Person: £5
