Difficult Sites: Architecture Against the Odds Curator Tour
Tuesday 29 April 2025
Start time/finish time: 6.30pm/7.30pm
Place: RIBA Gallery, 66 Portland Place, London W1B 1AD
Join exhibition curator, Charles Hind, for an in-depth look at RIBA's exhibition exploring remarkable feats of architectural achievement in the face of tricky terrain, awkward urban plots, challenging remodels, and more.
From the 1900s to today, it delves into over twenty complex, unusual, and dynamic builds across the UK. Including work from history’s most renowned architects Neave Brown, Grimshaw Architects, and Lord Norman Foster as well as contemporary practices of Tonkin Liu, KnoxBhavan, and Carmody Groarke the exhibition highlights the pioneering spirit at the heart of great architecture.
This is also the last chance to visit 66 Portland Place before it closes for 2.5 year refurbishment.
Charles Hind is Chief Curator Emeritus and former H.J. Heinz Curator of Drawings at the RIBA.
This is also the last chance to visit 66 Portland Place before it closes for refurbishments for two and half years.
