Explore Copenhagen in an immersive four-day tour of its modernist landmarks, curated by Grethe Pontoppidan architect and co-president of ISC20C in collaboration with Docomomo Danmark and Arkitekturbilleder.dk.
From Vilhelm Lauritzen’s groundbreaking Radiohuset (1927-45) to Jørn Utzon’s intimate Kingo Houses (1956-59) and the brutalist poetry of Islev Church (Johannes Exner, 1970), this itinerary reveals the city’s architectural audacity - where functionalism, social vision, and Danish craftsmanship converge.
Outline itinerary:
Thursday 28 May: Modern buildings in the Old Town
Friday 29 May: Tour with Copenhagen city architect Jesper Pagh
Saturday 30 May: North of Copenhagen coach tour – houses, estates, churches
Sunday 31 May: Tour of Tårnby
