A Day of Sidney Colwyn Foulkes, the Reluctant Modernist

This in-person event will explore the life and architecture of north Wales architect S Colwyn Foulkes. The morning will start at the Conwy Archives with a talk by Adam Voelcker, author of the recent UWP publication ‘Sidney Colwyn Foulkes: The Architecture of a Reluctant Modernist’. There will also be the opportunity to see a range of original SCF material from the archive collections.
This will be followed by a mini-bus and walking tour of some of SCF’s finest buildings around Conwy, Llandudno Junction, and Colwyn Bay led by Adam.
Adam Voelcker is a retired architect and author of books on buildings in Gwynedd, Herbert North and David Lea.
