Join us on the first trial of our new outreach programme Architecture Style Walks. Five fun, engaging walks (Art Deco, Modernism, Brutalism, Postmodernism and High-Tech) will explore key buildings of each style in London. You’ll learn the context in which they were built and hear interesting facts and anecdotes you can share with your friends in the pub later. The walks are very much aimed at the general public and will be repeated several times a year.
Explore London’s High-Tech architecture with influential heritage expert and historian Jon Wright. Starting at the daring Exchange House, we’ll explore the area around Liverpool Street before heading to the City to see some of the most famous High-Tech Buildings in the world. This will include work by Norman Foster, Richard Rogers and Nicholas Grimshaw. And where better to end the tour than at the Lloyd’s Building – the youngest ever building to receive the highest listing status.
Jon Wright is an Associate at Purcell Architecture and a heritage expert on twentieth century buildings. He lectures at University of Cambridge.
