Start time/place: 2:30pm/Nottingham Playhouse, Wellington Circus, NG1 5AF

Finish time/place: approx 4:30pm/The Green Heart, Broadmarsh, NG1 7DD

Join us on a tour led by Nottingham's Principal Conservation Officer Chris Matthews. We’ll be discussing contemporary conservation challenges and see some of the best architecture the city has to offer, including:

– The Park Estate (1820s onwards)

– Viyella House (1933), Grade II

– Former Inland Revenue Centre (1995), Grade II

– Nottingham Contemporary (2008)

– The Lace Market (1850s onwards)

– Sneinton Market Wholesale Buildings (1930s)

– Newton Building (1958), Grade II*

– Fire Station (1940), Grade II

– The Council House & Exchange Buildings (1929), Grade II*

– The Green Heart, Broadmarsh (2025)

Chris Matthews is Principal Conservation Officer at Nottingham City Council and a panel member of Design Midlands. He’s also a graphic designer and formally a lecturer at the universities of Lincoln and Nottingham.
