Birmingham Art Deco Walk

Tuesday 15 September 2026

Start time/place: 10.30am/the Library of Birmingham, Centenary Square, B1 2ND

Finish time/place: 1pm/New Street, B2 4DU

Join Katriona Byrne on this walking tour as part of Birmingham Heritage Week. The tour will explore the Art Deco buildings of the city centre. We'll visit over twenty buildings ranging from the 1920s to the 1950s, including commercial and civic landmarks in Stripped Classical and Streamline Modern styles. We will admire the fine sculpture enlivening the architecture and will have a chance to peep into some of the brilliant interiors.

Katriona Byrne is the Deputy Head of the School of Architecture and Design at Birmingham City University (BCU).

This is a re-run of the last year's hugely popular walk.
