This tour will take in the key interwar buildings designed by Sir Owen Williams: the ’Wets’ Factory (D10), ‘Drys’ (D6) and the Fire Station (D34). It will also include a short stop at the 1937-8 Canteen building (D31) by Dowling and Tanner, and a visit to the Boots Archive to look at maps and documents related to the architectural history of the site. Finally, the tour would not be compete without a visit to the D90 Offices 1967-9 by Skidmore, Owings & Merril. A printed handout will be provided by Chris Matthews from the Twentieth Century Society who will meet you outside Nottingham Station (details below). The tour of the site itself will be led by Charlotte Mccarthy from the Boots Archive.
