Ernö Goldfinger: Rationalist or Surrealist?

Thursday 4 April at 6.30pm

Alan Powers will talk about Erno Goldfinger celebrating the latest monograph in the series Twentieth Century Architects (C20 Society with Historic England and Liverpool University Press), which Alan co-authored with Elain Harwood.

Alan will review Goldfinger’s work in terms of two apparently contradictory tendencies that can be traced in his formation as an architect during the 1920s and are reflected through his long career.

Alan is a former Chairman of C20 and a current trustee. He teaches at London School of Architecture, New York University in London and the University of Kent.
