Post AGM Walk - Churchill Gardens and Lillington Gardens

Post AGM Walk - Churchill Gardens and Lillington Gardens - Saturday 15th June - 1.45pm to 4pm (approx)

Led by Suzanne Waters

Suzanne Waters will lead a walk around Churchill Gardens, built from 1946-1962. It was the first major housing project undertaken in Britain after the Second World War, designed by a young architectural practice, Powell& Moya, who had recently designed the Skylon at the 1951 Festival of Britain. We will also have a brief look at the nearby low-rise and later development Lillington Gardens by Darbourne & Darke (1961-1971).
