20th Century Architecture of the South-West in the RIBA Photographs Collection
Image: Boarding House, Dartington Hall School, Devon - Architectural Press Archive / RIBA Collections
Sunday 18th October 17.00 start
Presented by Valeria Carullo Photographs Curator, Royal Institute of British Architects and Tony Stokoe chairman of the South West Group
Following on from her recent presentation ‘A Short History of Architectural Photography’ for the Society, Valeria Carullo will give an illustrated guide to images from the Robert Elwall Photographs Collection at the RIBA focussing on C20 buildings and work in the South West. This will comprise a selection of interesting, beautiful and stimulating images from the region with some background information on the buildings and comments on the style of the photography. This will be followed by an opportunity for participants to comment and to share their knowledge of the images.
We’ll send you a Zoom link by email after you book, which will enable you to “join” the event, and we’ll be using the Q&A function to take questions. If you’ve not used Zoom before, clicking on the Zoom link will take you through the set up process, hopefully simply and smoothly! You should receive an automated link within an hour of booking so please check your spam/junk emails if you haven't received this. Any further problems please contact coordinator@c20society.org.uk.
The event is free but we welcome donations towards C20’s campaigning here.
