The Live Centre of Information: From Pompidou to Beaubourg (1968-71) Book Launch

Monday 6 November 6.30 - 9.00pm

Lloyds Building, One Lime Street, EC3M 7HA.

On Monday 6 November, join Arup and C20 Society for a very special evening at the Lloyds Building.

The event marks the UK launch of ‘The Live Centre of Information: From Pompidou to Beaubourg (1968-71)’ by author Boris Hamzeian.

This definitive new book traces the secret history and first stage of Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers's iconic Parisian cultural complex/project - an architectural utopia that became a reality.

A panel of experts will discuss the architectural and social legacy of Centre Pompidou, the conservation challenges presented by such a radical and pioneering building, and how a comparable cultural public project might look in the twenty first century.

The panel will be chaired by Hugh Pearman and includes:

Boris Hamzeian, Author of ‘The Live Centre of Information: From Pompidou to Beaubourg (1968-71)

Lennart Grut, Senior partner at RSHP and member of the original Centre Pompidou design team

Thomas Pearson, Associate at Arup specialising in architectural heritage

Tickets for this event are FREE and are expected to be extremely popular, so book now to avoid disappointment.

PLEASE NOTE: All attendees are required to bring a form of photo ID as a condition of entry to the Lloyds Building.
