Zoom

Thursday 29 April at 1830 presented by Naomi Games

Naomi Games will talk about her father’s work on the Festival of Britain symbol following the story from the designer’s brief, development of his ideas, to winning the competition. Also, she will cover his design of the Festival postage stamp and the other work that he contributed to the ‘Tonic to the Nation’.

Abram Games’s ‘Britannia’ emblem was ubiquitous, versatile and memorable.  The same can be said of the designer’s work.  His career spanned sixty years during which time was responsible for some of the most enduring images ever produced in Britain. The images will mostly be drawn from his personal archive.

The C20 journal Festival of Britain tells more of the story and can be bought at a discounted rate in our shop  https://c20society.org.uk/product/festival-of-britain-journal-5
